We are closed New Years Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Village Board meetings are held the 4th Monday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Village Hall.

Property tax bills are usually sent out the middle of December.
Please visit us at Village Hall. Effective for 2020, spayed females and neutered males are $15 for each license ($13.75 for Dane County; $1.25 for Village). Otherwise, females and males are $20 per license ($18.75 for Dane County; $1.25 for Village). Licenses will not be issued without proof of rabies vaccinations. Licenses must be renewed annually.

There is a burning ban in the Village of Cross Plains. The only fires that are allowed are prairie/marsh burns or recreational campfires and grills. Burning permits are required for prairie/marsh burns and can be obtained by stopping at the Village Hall.
There is a compost site on the west side of the Village Public Works building located at 1225 Bourbon Rd. Grass clippings, leaves and garden/yard waste can be put in this area. Please put empty bags in the nearby dumpster.

Please note that the Village does not stop to pick up leaves that are left on the curb. These are the responsibility of the property owner.
Brush pick up in the Village is the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. You must call the Village Office at (608) 798-3241, ext 102 or email renee@cross-plains.wi.us to get your address on the list. Please remember that the Village does not pick up leaves, grass clippings or garden/yard waste. These items can be disposed of at the Village compost site located on the west side of the Village Public Works building located at 1225 Bourbon Rd.

Garbage and recyclables are picked up on Thursday except if there is a National holiday during the week, then pickup will be on Friday. Garbage needs to be to the curb by 6:00 am.
You may pick up a recycle bin at the Village Hall. The cost for a bin is $10.

Make sure to Like us on Facebook for the most current cancellations of programs and classes. All coaches will be notified ahead of time and they are responsible for notifying the parents.
If you pay your taxes to the VILLAGE of Cross Plains and not the township.
Registration deadlines are a week prior to the program/event start date unless otherwise specified. Full refunds will not be given once a program has started unless canceled by the Rec Department.
Pool memberships can be purchased as soon as our Spring/Summer Activity registration goes live in March. Passes can be purchased online or through the village office.
The Cross Plains Pools will always Open on Memorial Day (weather and staff permitting).
Shelters can be reserves for parties as soon as January 1st for the year. Baseball/softball diamonds can be reserved at anytime. The Recreation department programs do get first dibs on all parks and fields owned by the Village.

The Village of Cross Plains accepts cash, check and credit card. Make checks payable to the Village of Cross Plains. A $25.00 service charge will be assessed to each returned check. Credit card fees may apply.

Voting is done at the Fire Station located at 1501 Bourbon Rd. Absentee voting can be done at the Village Hall.

If you are unable to get to the polls on Election Day, you can request an absentee ballot to be mailed or vote in person at the Village Hall prior to the date of election you would like to vote absentee in. Registered voters have until 5:00 pm the Friday prior to the date of the election in order to vote absentee. The last day to vote absentee IN PERSON is the Friday prior to the election. Absentee voting begins as soon as ballots are available to the Village.

Any outstanding balance as of September 30th needs to be paid by November 15th. As of November 15th any unpaid balances get transferred to the tax roll.
